Poem: “Prayer Over the Door of a Church” by Flor McCarthy, OSB
Lord, make this door of this church wide enough
to receive all who need human love and fellowship,
narrow enough to shut out all pride, envy, and strife.
Make its threshold smooth enough
to be no stumbling block to children or to straying feet.
Make this church a house of prayer
and a gateway to your Kingdom.
