This one in a six-Wednesday series that focuses on “The Art of Communicating Compassion,” in a world that is desperate for it. We will learn the value of centering ourselves through the use of deep breathing techniques. Once we have found a balance and have noticed what we are feeling, we will learn techniques to listen meaningfully to the one who is suffering. As we develop compassion, we learn how to use our words in a way to bring about greater understanding and compassion. The presentations will last 50 minutes, and then a creativity exercise will be assigned for the following session. A time for questions and comments will follow. No artistic ability is needed. We will do some simple exercises that will help you examine the world reflectively. We will meet on the first and third Wednesday evenings from October through December.
