Const.: GC 34, Decree 4: “Our Mission and Culture”, par. 27.4
We must remember that we do not directly “evangelize
culture,” we evangelize people in their culture. Whether we are working in our
own culture or in another, as servants of the Gospel we must not impose our own
cultural structures, but witness to the creativity of the Spirit which is also
at work in others. Ultimately, the people of a culture are the ones who root
for the church and the Gospel in their lives.
