Prayer: “Men for Others”, Unknown

From Loyola’s call, a fire was sparked,

A brotherhood with purpose marked;

Not bound by walls, nor crowned with gold,

But hearts made strong, and spirits bold.

They crossed the seas, they braved the land,

With steady mind and guiding hand;

They taught, they healed, they sought the wise,

With justice burning in their eyes.

No throne they claimed, no wealth they sought;

Their victories in souls were wrought.

Through books, through prayer, through quiet might,

They turned the darkened world to light.

Through trial, through exile, through whispered plot,

Their faith unshaken, their will forgot.

For others first, themselves the least,

The servants strong, the humble priests.

Still they labor, still they teach,

Their mission stretching far in reach.

For truth, for love, they stand and strive,

God’s flame within – forever alive!
