Spirituality: Gerhard Lohfink, Humans and The Cosmos

There is an unbreakable bond between the human and the cosmos. It is easy to see the connection must be taken seriously. Planet Earth is part of the solar system. Our solar system orbits in the center of the Milky Way. The Milky Way is one of many billions of galaxies. The universe of galaxies has been expanding since the Big Bang I’m 13.8 billion years ago, added an unimaginable and steadily increasing speed. Our planet is spinning around the sun somewhere with those imagination shattering spaces. What happened on this planet – so tiny in comparison to the universe – is breathtaking: life arose, organized itself with increasing complexity, and finally became a home to the human spirit.
