On January first
I asked my dog
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
She looked at me
with that furry face of hers
and without saying a word
my dog answered.
More walks
More naps.
I think I’ll be friends
with the cat.
She wagged her tail
closed her eyes
and that was that.
