The Spirit can be understood as the immanent divine power that enables evolutionary emergence, continually giving to creation the capacity to transcend itself and become more than it is. The breath of God breathes life into the whole process of an emergent universe. the Holy Spirit is the immanent divine principle drawing creation towards an open future.
