Thanks for posting the lyrics of this song to the holy Mother. I first heard this song about May 1944 in a very rural village in the island of Mindoro, Philippines. I was about 6 years old and WW II was still going. The village celebrated the annual Flores De Mayo with a procession from a small chapel which invariably endsup into the same chapel. I was reminded of the song when my brother who lives in San Diego said the song was sung in a procession in their town. Thanks again. You brought back memories of childhood. Not very pleasant, but memories nevertheless.

DeleteMy Grandmother used to pray this everyday. As I was sitting having coffee this morning,
ReplyDeleteparts of this prayer came to me. I couldn't remember the whole thing. I began to bother me, so I put the coffee down and had to look it up. Now here I am, the whole poem in front of me.
