O
Mary, be to us indeed a mother; pit the fears and sorrows of your children in
our state of long uncertainty and danger; show yourself a mother to us in the
hour of our death.

I would like to add to this prayer. I have just read an article about the 61 million children who have been left behind to raise themselves in rural villages in China while their parents go a great distance to work in the large cities to eke out a living for the family. These children are fearful and lonely and they need Mother Mary's love and protection as do their parents who are forced to leave them behind. May God be with them.
ReplyDeleteIt goes on all over the world. Children become adults at a young age and are expected to provide for others. Education becomes a low priority as eating is a necessity. The world is a harsh place at times.
