We pray for the Guidance of the Holy Spirit as the Cardinals assemble on Wednesday in Rome to elect a new pope. We pray that the Holy Spirit and lighten the hearts and the minds of the Cardinals as they seek to define a church that is responsive to the needs of the people of God and the people who are inspired by a pope‘s leadership We pray that the Holy Spirit is able to move through and beyond human desires, so that we might get a pope who is pastoral, cares for the need of the lease fortunate, represents a worldwide communion, and seeks the common good of all people. We pray that the Cardinals can read the signs of the times and elect a leader who has the heart of Jesus. We asked this through our Lord Jesus Christ.
