O God of all the nations
of the earth, remember the multitudes who, though created in your image, have
not known you, nor the dying of your Son their Savior Jesus Christ. Grant that,
by the prayers and labors of your church, they may be delivered from all
ignorance and unbelief and brought to worship you; through him whom you have
sent to be the resurrection and life of all people, your Son Jesus Christ.

This prayer provides another opportunity for me to reflect on how blessed I am to be in relationship with Jesus when so many have not heard; however, with that comes the responsibility to live the message so that others will see and hear. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think many Christians and others hunger to know Jesus because they hear of him, but want to know the power of his resurrection.
DeleteJohn please explain what you mean. Do you mean that people only want the resurrection and not the suffering and Passion and death? Or do you mean that people hear of Jesus but don't experience Jesus' power in their lives because they haven't established a deep relationship? I'm interested in knowing your thoughts on this, Thanks.
DeleteLynda, I think people want a deeper relationship with Jesus, who was raised from the dead. They are curious, have some un-formed ideas about him, and want to know he is present to them through his resurrection.
DeleteThat would be my experience as well. Thank you for clarifying. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteGood. It is so odd to now be in Turkey and to begin to form impressions of Christianity from a different culture of the world.
