Don't
Surrender
Your loneliness so quickly,
Let it cut more
Deep.
Let it ferment and season you
As few human
Or even divine ingredients can.
Something missing in my heart tonight
Has made my eyes so soft,
My voice so
Tender,
My need of God
Absolutely
Clear.

Loneliness is the human condition that we constantly try to avoid. Yet it draws us to God if we only remain there for that is our deep, deep need - to be with God. Thank you for sharing this poignant and deep poem.
ReplyDeleteLoneliness is a mystery. I'm not sure whether we are to avoid it or enter into what brings on our loneliness. When we examine deeply our feelings and thoughts, we are led to God.
DeleteThank you for this, both of you :-)
DeleteYou are welcome. See, we can't be lonely. We have each other in faith.
