Loving God,
Jesus told us to ask for anything we want in his name,
and you,
because you are generous and merciful,
will grant what we desire.
We ask that you strengthen
the desires of those who are drawn,
as Ignatius of Loyola was,
to 'help souls.'
We ask you to send
those with the desire to 'help souls'
to consider serving the church
in the Company that bears your Son's name.
May those of us who follow
in the footsteps of Ignatius,
his first companions,
and those who came after them,
warmly encourage and guide them
into our least Society.
We praise you
for steadfast support over the years
and we thank you
for the gift of the Spirit
who inflames our hearts with love for you.
May we serve you well
in our desire to 'help souls'
in your kingdom here on earth.
May we always receive the care and aid
you provide us
with open hearts and minds.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.
