It is the Mass of each day which forms the clearly apparent center of the graces notes down for the rest of the day. Ignatius' awakening and his rising with the thought of the Mass in his mind, his prayer, and his interior preparation for the Holy Sacrifice, his preparing the altar and the vestments, the beginning of the Mass and its different parts, and his thanksgiving - such are the moments to which are related the vast majority of favors he records. Even those which were received during the course of the day always seem like a prolonging or a complement of those of the morning.

ReplyDeleteI think he should be a Doctor of the Church. He has written over 3,000 letters and his Spiritual Exercises heals so many people every year.
