If
suffering did not occur, how would endurance be achieved? Suffering plants the
vine of endurance, endurance brings forth the grape of proof that we have stood
the test, and this proof produces the wine of hope, and hope makes the heart
rejoice because it beholds the happiness that is to come as if it were at hand.
