Prayer: Prayer for listening and speaking

Lord, we give you thanks for bringing us together to help us consider new ways of listening and speaking in order that we may restore relationships that sometimes set us on edge. We give thanks for the people who are put in our midst in order to see how they are trying to do what is good and right. We celebrate you when we speak in a way that brings about greater trust. Help us to trust you as we try out new approaches and be bold enough to try. In the end, we know you are in the midst of these interactions. Help us to experience you more clearly. We ask this through the mercy of Jesus, Your Son, our Lord and Companion. Amen.
