Prayer: Cyril of Alexandria
Hail, Mary, mother of God, venerable treasure of the whole universe, lamp that is never extinguished, crown of virginity, support of the true faith, indestructible temple, dwelling of him whom no place can contain. O mother, through you all the holy gospels call blessed the One who comes in the name of the Lord.
This is so beautiful. John, I think I have mentioned that I was received into the Roman Catholic Church in 2004. In my Protestant upbringing and subsequent worship, Mary was not as revered as in our church so I am learning more and more and being drawn closer to her. I believe that God is leading me to her side so this prayer speaks deeply to me as it is another opportunity for God to lead me to her. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I'm always amazed and often surprised at the ways Mary has a vital role to a person's faith. I take it for granted, but it still surprises me.
DeleteMary always leads us to her Son.
ReplyDeleteAnd he to her.
