Poem: "Joseph's Dream" by Philip Chircop

a wake … a sleep … a dream
asleep, a dream
in the middle of the night, in total darkness
an audible vision like none felt before
a shiver down my spine
a quickening of the heart
a mantra repeated deep within: wake up
awake
translating the dream into flesh
a whisper speaks very loud in the bowels of my being
a clear whisper noticed by the heart
spoken in the light of day:
choose life
give life
protect life
no longer a dream
now a daily choice

life

  1. Fr. Philip always gives us something to think about. I have been privileged to have him as retreat director many times at Manresa near Toronto and to be present for spiritual conversations with others as they have made his retreats. He lives not far from where I live - that is, when he is home! Thanks for sharing this.

    1. He is a Facebook friend and he is always traveling and doing good works. He seems like a very nice priest who is in high demand.
