Prayer: Ignatius on suffering
True, I am in love with suffering, but I do not know if I deserve the
honor.
Beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIgnatius was a marvel. It is very difficult to say these words.
DeleteI was just going to say this. I am not there yet at all.
ReplyDeleteI love his sentiment, but at times it seems as if I have enough suffering in my life. Still, I respect that I am far off from Ignatius' holy desires.
DeleteSuffering that can be understood as redemptive, rather than suffering understood as something to be endured for its own sake.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is the type of suffering about which Ignatius is speaking.
DeleteThis is something on which I wish to reflect - it has so much in such a few words. I agree with Claire that it is beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty is in it sentiment and simplicity.
