Prayer: Augustine of Hippo
Let
us rejoice and give thanks, not only that we have become Christians but that we
have become Christ! Do you understand the enormous grace God has given us?
Stand in awe and rejoice – we have become Christ!
This is an overwhelming thought that the Cosmic Christ is within us. A few years ago one of our priests said something in his homily that has never left me: "The real presence of Christ is in the assembly of the people." I had experienced that when in the presence of the assembly but I wasn't able to express what caused me to have that feeling of incredible unity or being at one with everyone until the priest expressed it so eloquently. Thanks for this prayer.
