So often people find reasons to not "show up." I've been doing it for so long that I know that's all that's needed. I empty myself, and the person on the other side of the rail fills me. She is at university in the same city and has just learned of her mother's cancer; they are hoping I will be able to bring her comfort and consolation. I am only God's vessel and the words will be those of the Holy Spirit because I have no words for such a situation. I am privileged to be present with her and bring her God's love.
