Bridget

I am trying to learn more about our saints so I can identify with them better. I do not want to see them merely as historical people who lived the faith well, but I want to be a part of their friendship.

Please share your personal devotions to these saints in our daily calendar.

Bridget was married around age 13 and bore eight children. After her husband died, she joined the Third Order Franciscans and still wanted a deeper devotion to her faith. When she moved to Rome from Sweden, she founded the Bridgettine Order for both men and women. It was an austere practice. She became co-patronness of Europe along with Catherine of Siena and Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Of course, he is the patron of Sweden.
